Excel help needed asap!

writing a simple spreadsheet in work, i do a simple formular, say A1:A3, as a total in A4. its works fine, i then save it, check it, change a number so the total should change but it doesnt. yet the formular is correct?!

What am i doing wrong?

Have you tried just using auto sum?

yes, its the same formular using autosum anyway. Must be an answer to this.

what numbers are you using in a1:a3

any numbers, do the cells have to be formated anyway? protected or anything?

Make sure they are formated to number rather than general - although it shouldnt make a difference.

Have you got auto calcs on?

Does calculations automatically:

tools - options - calculations. then tick the box.

Thats probily it then, ill give it a go when i get into wok later. My boss wont be happy if i cant do this, lol.

or just shift-F9 to calc the sheet

i knew you could turn it on and off but im yet to see it turn itself off! odd one but seems to come up often on here
