Exhaust Fitting??

  BMW M135i
Right, thinking of possible going for a k-tec catback but i'm wondering exactly how its fitted? Intend to do it myself but I want to keep it so that I can replace with the standard exhaust when I sell it.

Do you have to cut to standard one to get it off? Or can it be removed as a whole? And how is it attached to the cat? Bolted flange?

And what are peoples general opinion on the k-tec exhausts?

if its like the 1.2 it has no middle box and you have to cut it off. its just a long pipe all the way to cat.
be carefull of the rubber mount though as they can be damaged easily and
you will get horrible knocking noises. might be an idea to get some new ones.
cant remember if they are only held on by two brackets from the backbox to the cat.

k-tec are cool!!

no need to cut it.

jack the car up on each side at the back just so the rear wheels are almost off the ground, undo the two 18mm bolts on the rear shocks and remove the bolts, then wind the jacks up on each side high so the beam is on the floor with the wheels but the cars ass is in the air,

undo the exhaust from the joint @ the cat and pull it out from the rear, in one piece ;)

Right just to bump this up again, got a magnex twin cat-back sorted and will be fitting it on sunday. The only question i've got for fitting is the cat to exhaust bolts? How difficult will they be to get out, going to have a test crack at them tomorrow while i'm chaning my oil and the cars jacked up.

Am I likely to need new ones? Or should I be able to get them out?

I'm expecting them to be b******s as the constant spray and cooling/heating cycles won't make them the easiest to remove?

Just looking for some experiences with them? fred?
