Exhaust for 1.2 Dynamique

Hey all,

Had done a search about this before and had more or less decided to go for the 6x3 k-tec system but reading a couple of recent threads people have been saying that the k-tec is a bad fit, and that the quality really seems to deteriorate after a few months.

Has anyone got what they consider to be the definitive answer as to which exhaust to get for the 1.2 dynamique as i dont wanna spend over 200 notes on something which doesnt really seem worth it after its on the car?!

cheers for any answers peeps

na the k-tec is the one to go for!! that and the relocation ind kit gave me 86bhp

The build on them is quite good and they do fit quite well, but i had to do a fair bit of pissing about to get it sitting straight. Ive fitted 2 of them now and theyve both been exactly the same.

They have a habit of dropping on one side

yup

k-tec is a good system dude as fred says.

Ive got the Magnex Cat Back,

its quieter then the k-tec, but the quality is good and so is the k-tec.

magnex is held on by a bracket but the k-tec is held on one side i belive?

ive seen freds and chris and they are nice!!

if u want a beafy loud sound with good gain go for k-tec dude!

if it drop to one side it can be easily rectified, just gotta piss around a bit

^^ oh yeah the Magnex is mint too^^ not as loud as k-tec

plus it has that extra bracket for supporting the weight

DONT LET WHOEVER FITS IT, CUT YOUR OLD ONE!!!!! Theres no need to cut the old one to get it off, it can be taken off in 1 piece

Yup no need to!

but most places will cut it off

:(

cheers for the replies lads, i wanna keep the original until october when the warranty runs out in case i have to put it back on for any warranty work and the dealer gets shirty about it.

how often does the k-tec drop to one side then?!

Fred what did you do to stop it dropping? Chris told me before but i cant remember exactly what he said, something about using some pipe as extra support? Is that 86bhp at the fly?

Anyone know what Remus exhausts are like?

I liked the idea of the Magnex twin but i think the subtler k-tec twin looks better on the non sport models. However the K-tec/Tiger exhausts quality is dubious IMO.

na Rob, dont get me wrong, theres nowt wrong with the K-tec!!! Apart from Roamers, but he does have TBs!!!!!

spirez, its simple!!!! Bit of pond pipe wedged into the rear mount to reduce the movement believe it or not!!!!!!

What exactly is the issue with the quality on the k-tec rob?

And what does everyone think looks better out of the k-tec twin round pipes, or the 6x3 oval?

cheers!

id agree with Rob, the twin 3" is a bit more subtle than a 3.5", as for the build, its not as neat as a magnex, but does the job :) I love mine. Obviously, i like the twin 3, coz i bought one, but the kinda squashed oval sits nice under the straight-cut bumper too. Both would look better if there was a cut out in the bumper tho

rob is correct, he has my old one, there is what appears to be rust on the tailpipe, but isnt

and on my mates r5, he has had to weld the rear box because of a massive crack on top of the box

granted, out of the ones ive seen, these are the only 2 that have had problems, but its the 1st company (peco aside) that i have seen any fault with their systems

cheers guys, ill give it some thought

ive had exhausts from piper, ashley and janspeed and they have all been a bit dubious quality so i wanna get something decent this time

Remus is nice but they dont do a full system, so i made my own.

Yeah the welding isnt as neat on the k-tec..because i think Tiger are actually a bit of a Powerflow type company..and they must use some lower grade steel compared to the big guns to have this rust effect.

Fred cant resist a big up of k-tec! Though to be fair its Tiger exhausts fault not k-tecs..

cheers for the advice peeps, ill most probably get the k-tec next month then £ permitting!

anyone got any thoughts on the difference in sound between the 2x3" and the 6x3 oval? and also which one looks better? i was tempted by the 6x3 originally, but ive seen a few of the 2x3" pipes and they look quite nice.

as its just the standard dynamique rear bumper i dont want anything thats going to hang down stupidly under the car!

thanx

why cant you cut the exhaust.if you cut it in the right place you can rejoin it with sleeves from renault.

Hello guys, our exhausts are made from 304 grade stainless steel and all come with a lifetime warrantly. They are made exclusively for us by Tiger and Tiger are by no means a Powerflow style company, in fact they produce exhausts for many companies who you all will of heard of. We have seen many exhausts made by powerflow and the quality of the materials used is terrible. We had a powerflow system on a R19 we once had and it had to be repaired after 1 year as a hole had rotted into the so called stainless steel back box!!

All the systems are a very good fit, especially the ones for the Clio 2s . The only time they become a bad fit is if they are fitted incorrectly. Admittedly we fit these all the time so we know what to do to get the system to line up perfectly, but it is very easy to do as there is only 1 bend before the over axle pipe and the system only has 1 joint.

We are very confident in our systems which is why we offer the lifetime guarantee or help any customer who has a queery with their system (Rob, the blemish on your tailpipe will simply polish out on a polishing machine and we can do this for you at any time).

David.

cheers for the info David... youll no doubt be hearing from me in the near future for an exhaust and induction kit!

just gotta decide between 2x3" and the 6x3 now? lol

:)twin 3 mate!!!! lol :p K-tec are topps...........a large part of a purchase is the customer service, and David will do all he can to ensure you are happy! At first i thought mine was too loud, i was offered a new, quieter back box to try..........but i had already fallen in love with mine a week later! Top company....and i still love my exhaust! Best Mod to date - Rob :)

I just like to have the exhaust in 1 piece saves fannying about with sleeves (i know its easier to cut it, but im a difficult b*****d!!!)
