Exhaust gas warning light flashing when idle

It's on constantly due to decat but today when idle at traffic lights it started to flash I turned engine off and back on and it was fine.

It's done this three times now over last few days, my gf said it was flashing but as soon as she drove off from the lights it stopped.

I'm guessing it's not that big a deal otherwise it would keep flashing

get a code reader off ebay for £20 and clear the fault yourself. thats what i did with my de cat.

Doesn't bother me if it flashes now and again just as long as it's nothin serious, only just got used to it being on constantly.

The fumes of you're motor are unreal mate. I'd be getting it checked if i was you!

I thought it was just coz of the decat and the fact I drive it like I stole it everywhere, wouldn't that be causing it?

It was up on a ramp yesterday check for exhaust leaks but there was nothing, so I think it's just coz I thrash it constantly - and that's prob why I'm at the petrol station every day

It smells a bit like burnt two stroke oil and tyre smoke mixed together. It's due a service and MOT in a few months
