Exhaust - heat wrap vs ceramic painted vs nothing

Had the manifold on my old 182 engine internally and externally ceramic coated.

worked well with regards to keeping the heat in the pipework rather than the engine bay.

What waas actually gained performance wise...... no idea, but i doubt it was much!
 
I heat wrapped and silicone coated my 182 manifold before fitting. All I know is, it takes longer to get to temp and it smells a little. lol.
 
as i have lost the heat shielding on the bulkhead etc and i have just had some (not loads) birthday money i thought it may be beneficial, and a good spend, but i will go for some more axle stands, an oil catch tray and some sump plug keys instead
