Exhaust help on a 1.2.

Got an 05 1.2 extreme? clio and im wanting to buy a backbox.. the one i want is meant to be a straight swap for the current one thats on a standard clio, just looked under the car and it seems to be all one system with nowhere for me to remove the old backbox to attach the new one onto. Is this the standard exhaust or has it been swapped somewhere along the line?

Am i missing something? Do i need to get a full system if im wanting a new backbox or is it going to be a welding jobby to get it to fit?

You will have to cut the std exhaust where needed, the join it with a sleeve/clamp.

Will this exhaust fit the clio when if its welded.

I know it says its made for renault clio but it always says no modification or changes are needed to fit it, it will swap with the standard backbox. Clearly not if the old one needs to be cut off and the new one re-welded on so just wondering if that will fit properly.

Yes that one will fit, my mate has that exact exhaust on his 51 plate ph2. We needed to put the later style center section on for it to fit properly, don't know if you'll need to do that to yours.

not sure mate, by newer you mean the same model but say an 04 model's centre section or the the newer model? Whats it sound like on your mates car?

As in, the Mk2 Ph2 1.2s up to about 53 plate have a centre section that has a silencer in it, due to them having a different engine. The 04 plate onwards Mk2 Ph2 1.2s have a centre section without a silencer in it. His backbox is quite loud tbh.

Okidoke mate, thanks for the help! Think ill bid on it then, uncle has said he'l be able to do the job easy enough so wont cost me anything.. theres people bidding on the backbox already so even if it dont fit, ill be able to get my money back
