Exhaust manifold for Williams

What difference will a SS exhaust manifold make to my Williams? What power increase can i expect if any (2-5bhp????) and what price could i expect to pay?

  williams and trophy

i wouldnt really expect to see much increase at all from a s/s manifold......as its been fairly heavily worked as standard, jus check out the willy mani up to te valver 1 ul see the dif

So 2 live, is there anything else i could change on the engine externally before i modify the internal part? Would rather get all the power i can from external components before i go internal.

Have you decatted yet? That seems to work quite well with the Williams. Maybe a full exhaust system to go with it.

16V is 2 seperate cast iron peices, forming a 4-2-1 pattern.

The willy is bent tubular steel forming 4-1.

Up to you if you try the 4-2-1 stinless effort, nobody can tell you how good it is unless you try.

If you dont like it, im pretty sure you can persuade me to buy it off ya lol.

Haywood and Scott wanted £450 + vat for an equal length tubular manifold. Standard one seems pretty good though 4-1 is meant to give better top end over the 4-2-1 which is more for mid range to overcome the valvers shorter stroke. I got the quote because when I had a look at a cup the exhaust manifold looked nice and shiney and bent to be equal length and the magpie took over. The gains could be very good though but Id rather put the £450 in my integrale fund.
