Exhaust Manifold

  Clio Cup Ph2 172 16v
My Ph2 172 has a stainless system to the manifold with a ktec decat. Over the past few months though it has started getting a bit louder and sounding slightly like a tractor (hard to describe) but a few different people have told me they think the problem lys with the manifold, either its cracked somewhere or the gasket is gone. If it is the gasket its a cheap fix, and if it does need a new manifold i've seen I could get a second hand oem one for around £35-50 inc p+p. But what I want to know is, would it be worth my time fitting an aftermarket manifold that is less restrictive, and if I did get one, say 2.5" would it be easily enough fit to my decat pipe. And what sort of aftermarket manifold to get?

Please any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,Aaron

As Danny has said most likely the gasket, but there is a chance the manifold could be cracked - you can have them welded so it might not be a lost cause

Standard exhaust manis are ten a penny and perfectly capable should it need replacing.

If you did want an upgrade, change it to a 182 manifold. 4-2-1 rather than a 4-1. You'll need a link pipe to connect it to your 172 exhaust though.
