Exhaust Options

I mean if my exhaust wasn't on the way out I wouldn't be changing it, so its ideal for me.
Just can't decide between stealth or recessed. If I don't change to a recessed one, I can't regret making that decision! Whereas if I keep it as is, its like I've not made a choice at all.
I have actually changed from a recessed to a stealth Piper exhaust. But it is very much a personal choice. Once you cut the bumper there’s no going back though.

I did exactly the same. My recessed bumper was butchered though so it was a good excuse to go stealth.

How much is delivery from them?
I'm not sure - I got mine from Chris at CP Performance on the Clio 172 Cup Facebook page - he was running a group buy.

Piper 2.5" Twin Silencer Cat Back Stainless Steel Stealth Exhaust - was £350 delivered. (group buy price)

That was a very good price, you are looking at over £455 delivered from CP performance now.

If there is enough interest I can look into running another group buy with My business CP Performance however just to let you know, there is a price increase due from the manufacturer in April.

Many thanks

Chris

Hi,

Ok, thank you. That was a very good price!

I'd be interested in a stealth twin box system on the group buy!
I would need to revist the pricing on a basis of 5 orders and see what deal I can put together.

Since the original group buy the cost of both stainless steel and Labour have increased which has meant an increase from the manufacturer but I'll do my best if you can get others to join in a group buy

Would the group buy have to be for the same specifications or could it be altered?

Im looking at getting a none resonated version and backbox that has the tip out of the back of the bumper.

I work in engineering supplies and yes, stainless pricing has been mental in the last year! I'm in no rush and would like to give my business to a forum member, even if the group buy just means extra sweets in the order!

Annual bump to see if he sees the replies about the group buy. Tried PMing to no avail.

I got a ss Piper stealth one at the end of last year. It has both boxes but it is f**king loud!! It was as loud as the shitty one that was on there!! It is much louder than standard!!
I also hated the fitment as you could see the down-turned tip and the bottom of the rear box under the bumper. I wanted it to be as OE as possible. It wasn't! I thought it was w**k, so I took it to be cut and raised up. Now it looks as it should, no box etc seen from the back. I also had a KAM racing Grams rear mount fitted while it was there. I like that.

The exhaust is still loud, not in a good way. I really regret getting it.

This is my biggest hate. Why call it a stealth or make it look like one when you can still see it?

I had to get my ktec tucked right up so it was invisible.

I'm sorry to hear yours is really loud. Do you have any other mods? decat?

I've got a Piper with twin silencers and it's not loud at all.

I've still got a cat and it's stock engine - maybe they changed something from when I bought mine in the group buy 🤔

Nope, just the exhaust.

I'm conflicted now! I definitely don't want it loud, its a track car. If the exhaust hadn't failed I wouldn't be looking. I replaced the backbox and it got through its MOT but its sat for a year or two since then. Its touching underneath somewhere and buzzes your eyes out of the sockets above about 6000rpm.

I think you might be best going to an exhaust place and telling them what you want and getting one made up. I wish I'd have had the bloke who sorted the fit of the rear box on mine make one from the off. It would have saved me a lot of time and money. He said that ss is noisier than mild. This thing is stupid!

I've got a BTB on mine, it's well made, much nicer than the Ktec stealth I took off. With a cat and two silencers it's fairly quiet too.

If there's a decent fabricator near you I'd definitely look into getting one made, that way it'll be a nice TIG welded job that fits the car properly rather than some mig welded abortion made on a jig in a factory that may or may not fit well
