1.6 Ford Focus
This problem seams to be intermittent and hasn't happened since I started my Ph1 up yesterday morning and reved the guts out of it so I could actually move it back.
I noticed last week that when the engine is idling the exhaust seams to make a rattling or knocking sound and at higher revs if the car is stationary it makes an odd growling noise.
Next problem was about half a week after the rattling started... Normally when you get to the biting point on the clutch you can just lift off it slowly and you start moving... well that stopped happening and I had to put my foot down on the accelerator all the way to the floor to keep enough revs to get the car moving...
I had a look under the car at the exhaust and apart from the mounts rusting to hell it all looks fine, I can't find any reason why it would be doing this... My only other thought is that its rusted through behind the back box, but then that wouldn't effect the performance would it?
I have a 2001 Mk2 Ph1 Grande 1.2l manual if that helps, perhaps someone had the same problem?
