Exhaust wrap

  80MPG BEEZA
ok got hold of a 182 manifold so while im waiting to get my inlets back from benr i wanna heat wrap the exhaust, so my questions are..

how much do i need?

how do i fit it and secure it?

how much will it cost?

thank you

Its a pain to use, itchy, annoying, impossible to get even wrapping around collectors, stainless doesnt like it in the long term, its a great source for catching fire.

If you want to do something along the lines, then just ceramic coat the manifold.

ah ha so just get it ceramic coated seems better and for £150 doesnt seem much more then i'd pay to get it heat wrapped, thank you!

I've had my 182 ceramic coated by camcoat, much better than wrapping and like Rich said above it melts the welds

well after hearing how long it takes and the dangers of it catching fire i'll go with ceramic coating just have to wait for it to be delivered!

and as for getting hold of one i checked ebay everyday for the past 4 months a bent one was on last month then last week a good one came on i offered him a good price with cash ready to be sent and he took it :)

I payed to have it cleaned as well (second hand manifold) and had the race spec coating inside and out, i paid £180, when weighing up the pros and cons and prices of wrapping etc, its a much better way to go!

It's meant to keep the heat in the actual manifold, which lowers engine bay temps and also helps to get the exhaust gas out quicker due to retained heat, so i've heard!!
