Exhaust

What have people done with Exhausts on the new Clios?

I want to do something, but not sure they all look good cause the bumper goes over it normally! And Im totally new to this, so dont know what I need etc. etc.

I want something subtle (looks and sound), sound a bit more gravelly when starting up/moving off, but dont really want more noise at speed.

Can anyone help with advice on what to get/how to do it/where to get it etc. please?

if you dont want the motorway boom, avoid k-tec

a custom made exhaust could be what you need, as you can specify what you want it to look like, and how it sounds (loud or louder)

if not, scorpion produce a nice exhaust note, but AFAIK they only do a 3.5" exit for the 1.2 16v

on saying that, remus do a nice system, doesnt sound too loud if i remember rightly

We are just about to introduce a new centre section for the smaller engined Clio 2s (1.2, 1.2 16v, 1.4, 1.4 16v and 1.6 16v) which has a silencer built in. At the moment the current centre section is a straight through pipe which is what gives the exhausts their sporty sound. The new silencer will quieten them down slightly but not enough so you cant hear the exhaust. This should then give the customer a choice of noise level to suit what they want.

We have alrady introduced this type of new centre section on the 172 and Clio 1 systems and it works very well.

woah..david youre getting old..are you going to bring out a de-cat or something? Ive got a way to go until i break the noise limit at brands.

I have a remus back box Cost £130 from elite in essex

I have modded my center section (erm removed) and replaced with a ss pipe that cost £3.47

Then i cleaned the rust off and sprayed it with heat resistant paint as used on the remus boxes.

Sounds great, looks great.

This sounds good, but I havent got a clue about exhausts and I am desperate to get mine done NOW!!

How does this affect my existing exhaust system, does it replace the whole thing?? Is is possible to just get back box and tail pipe to get the same effect?????? What happens about the cat, does this stay?

Havent checked about warranty or insurance yet on this point either.

What sort of money am I looking at fully fitted for this sort of system?

I have a 2003 1.4 16v.

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!
