Exhaust

Car  Fiesta ST Stage 3

If you fit a performance exhaust do you need to change the ecu or is it ok just to change the exhaust alone as i do not want to change my ecu on my mk 1 172 . Was looking at performance exhaust and sport cat on k tec and what sort of power/bhp gains would this bring

Thanks .

u wouldnt need to change the ecu for an exhaust, if u fitted a viper/bmc induction system then it could affect the air/fuel mixture causing the car to run too lean and then u should look at a remap. power wise ktec quote about 6bhp for their sports cat and with a full system u might be looking at 8-10bhp, maybe....

GR8 as i was asking sunday about air filters and vipers and was told to go for a free flow panal filter as i was not going to change the ecu but i wanted just a little more power. So i could do the air filter panal , sports cat , and full system with no change to the ecu yes.

How hard would it be to fit by my self is it just a case of take the old parts off ie cat ,exhaust back box and pun new ones on as i have not a lot of good mod shops down hear in sunny bognor regis.

what what ive read on here the cat is an absolute b*****d to get off, best left to the pros with the right tools.

Ive decatted my mk1 172, and added a cat back freeflow system, car is running fine, but Im going to chip it anyway...let you all know by tuesday what the results are

Viceroy did you do it yourself ? And Yeecup if the cat is so hard to get off how about just the cat back ?
