Experience with CHIPEX touch up

I'm looking at repairing a few chips on my bonnet and a small scuff that someone left for me in a car park the other day. Has anyone had experience with the CHIPEX touch up kits?

Also, I'm waiting for a call back from the reno stealers but could anyone tell me the name of the colour for the paint code TED44? ive looked in the paint codes stickys but cant see it.

Heard back from reno and TED44 is also D44, so its odyssey blue as i thought.

I bought a Chipex kit a few years ago, barely used it really but did some bonnet chips last autumn and a larger piece on the bonnet where a brick hit it.

Chips have all blended nicely but the larger part is still noticeable (to me at least), partly due to the yellow being slightly off, partly due to the dent that's in the same place. It's all pretty simple to use as long as you take your time and fill the chips progressively. I use cheap fine arts brushes when applying it.

The ones I've done with the Chipex stuff look better than the previous owners attempts which I assume were just blobbed on with a Fiat kit.

Yeah, I think mine was £50 back in the day, I see there's a few kits at different prices now.

I just need to get my arse in gear and use the rest of it around the car!

Imo , it looks a bit expensive for what you get . There used to be a link to a guide on detailingworld years ago which i used and it worked . Just get yourself an aerosol mixed up in your colour , a few cocktail sticks and some 2500 or 3000 grit wet n dry paper . Make sure the chip is clean , no wax or dirt , use some panel wipe or Isopropyl alcohol , acetone would work too . Spray a small amount of the paint in the lid then using the cocktail sticks fill the chips with the paint , building up the paint until it stands proud , leaving to dry in between , it dries pretty quickly . Leave it to dry for 24 hours or so and then gently sand back then polish .

I watched a video on youtube how to use that chipex kit . I don't believe for a minute they got such good results the way they did it . It was like a 3 year old child had put blobs of paint in the chips lol . But then again , the video has to be convincing because they want to sell their product .
