Expert Advice wanted please

Hi im carl and i would like some first car advice.

i mite be going to see a 1999 clio 1.2 rn in blue that has 96000 miles and is priced at 650 quid.

the car has no problems except the service light will not go off???

is there a more serious underlying problem which might lead the service light not to go off?

your snappy replies are really appreciated.

Many thanks

carl...

Cheers for the reply mate. Would you go for it then? It a one owner from new and the guy just needs rid of it tbh. five years worth of service history aswell which is quite good.

i did a wee search on yahoo and it said something about turning the ignition on, pressing the oddometre button for thirty seconds and then it will reset itself.

however he left it off to a local renault garage twice and they could not diagnose the problem or get it turned off.

so i was just wondering if it was a common clio fault or was part of a more serious underlying problem????
