expiry date on shampoo?

just found a Turtle Wax car shampoo+wax thats been lying in my garage for a good 6-7 years.(could be more, can't really remember)
it's never been used before.

wanted to know if these things loose their quality after some time?
and could it actually damage the paint instead of just cleaning?

Yes they do, but I highly doubt it would damage the paint. You're more likely to find that it has separated or gone hard. Use your good judgement and if it still looks OK, test a small amount on a small area.
