yes if you look on cyldia for roqybt im sure that will allow you to use an external bluetooth gps receiver

Not jailbreaking, only option I've found connects using wifi. Only £500 lol.

so whats dodgy about it or are you trying to be funny it seems allow me to use gps on my ipod touch

Its dodgy on an iphone, on a ipod i doubt you get the same issue.
