External Hard Drive USB Powerd

Wow, maybe Toshiba do then Heheh.

Very very rare - normally laptop manufacturers just use WD, Hitachi, Seagate etc.. for their drives as it's not worth their bothering.

Anyway, Go buy a Seagate or something ;) :p

Hope so, I just brought it :)

(I remember you saying you had a carputer before)
Just wondering what keyboard you used?

Because the one i have (wireless,With joystick mouse) seems to have 'Broke' and only works about 2feet from the transmitter.

It's in a box in my loft now :(
Not been used since I removed it all from the car a few years back.

I would of took a VGA monitor if i new how s**t RCA was when i 1st started my project, But now i have 4 RCA(Screens) so a VGA would be hard to intergreat into the proJect now.

You could still just have a VGA in the front.. and use the rest elsewhere..

I've just got a 300gb Maxtor(Seagate lol) external HD. Its ICP/IP Network ready so uses Ethernet instead of USB, Its conected to my Wireless Router so my 2 Desktops and Laptop can share it. It also has a couple of USB ports on the back so you can plug a Printer into it and share that on the network as well..

£90 from Staples.. Clearance.

Sorry mate, didn't see that bit..

I'd go for a Sandisk Firelite then, iirc they go upto about 80gb and powered by USB.

Bigger is better :) But also has to be fast enough to steam movies.
I have found a 120GB powered by USB but thats the biggest i can find any where, That is powered by USB.

Do you not have any firewire? You can get powered FW drives higher than USB.

Largest USB powered is 160GB by Seagate.

Sorry its Smartdisk Firelite.. not sandisk.

I'm sure you know but make sure the 120gb is 7200rpm and not 4800..
The Firelites are 7200..

That sounds interesting.

Is there any chance you could knock up a system diagram for me. I'm looking for ideas in this department.

I doubt they'd get power from the hub?
Normally, you have to plug two USB plugs into the computer if they are powered.. Hubs tend not to have enough power, but I could be wrong.. (unless it's powered which then you need to plug in! :p)
