get a cheap soundblaster audigy off ebay and you can then get a lead to plug straight into your soundcard from your mixer

If you don't have an RCA input on your soundcard you could use a RCA to Jack adaptor which is what i use. (most PCs should have a line input)

so where would the red and white parts of the lead go in my mixer? into the rec out?

i use the booth output on my djm, that way you can adjust the recording level of the mix, ideally you should be using the rca to 3.5 jack from the mixer into a line in on the soundcard but some people like myself dont have one so the mic port has to do, i use soundforge to record mine, its really easy to use

ps. just make sure you have the levels set correct or your mix will sound either too low or too loud which will make the bass sound distorted, i recorded that latest mix of mine slightly to loud, you can hear during some mixes when the 2 are playing it distorts slightly, ill fix that for the next one

I don't have 'REC OUT' on my sh*tty mixer lol

I plug my lead into the red and white 'LINE OUT' (the one below) and the other end (jack) goes into the the 'LINE IN' input on to the back of the soundcard on your laptop/pc.

should have this logo next to it

the lead mentioned doesnt loook like it'll fit into the back of my pc!!
arghh

best thing to do is, get your recording prog running ready to record, it should have the 2 equalizer light thingys that go up and down when sound is there, fart about with the diff ports until you get it bouncing up and down with sound, it shouldnt really come to this tho, its really really simple to set up...

this is the back of my pc, the line and phone ports look like they have really wide connections almost like a socket u use to plug in for an internet/phone connection etc......

the mic does work, thats what i use

put the cable into the mic port, then try your 2 ptions on your mixer, 1 will work, but you need a sound prog open to visually show you that there is a signal from the decks

cool i will get the lead 2mo......
i will try using the record out and line out options on my mixer going to the mic socket on my pc!!

im downloading sound forge now, so once its all correctly set up it should register on soundforge somehow?

yup, all you do is hit the little record icon on the top left and it brings up the equaliser thingy i ws talkin about, then you will see if there is a signal coming thru
