was just driving along on the way to work in my new 172 when i heard a massive bang, look in my mirror to see a lorry go past and my bump strip fly up in the air, got out for a look, a rock came flying off the lorry and hit the side of my car!!!

car needs front and rear bumpstrip on drivers side, and the door needs painted!!!!!!

due to the conditions i didnt even see the reg plate or even the company!

the problems eather been the lorrys been badly loaded, the drivers not put his cover on properly (or not put it on at all!) or its been a rock jammed between the wheels thats came flying out.

im thinking its possibly the wheels due the way it came flying at the car (the roads quite wide and we were a good distance apart!)

lol at it been the drivers fault for a stone flicking up. If someone rang us saying that we'd tell them to jog on.

lol We get all sorts of claims against us. Most recent was some old biddy's dog had ran off the pavement and under the wheels of one of our trailers. She said she was going to sue for a new dog.

Unlucky pal.... sorry to hear it. :(

Fecking construction trucks are the ones that REALLY feck me right off.

FFS - how difficult can it be to sweep the tailgate door clear of sh1t before they set off? Instead of leaving it to rain chippings and other crap that come bouncing off, every 1mm of tarmac deviation that they hit.

Nobbers.

ouchy not good mate, but dont tar all truckers with the same brush... me old mans been driving for over 45 years most of it in trucks and has never hit anyone... or knowingly caused damage... same goes with my brother full haz chem driver delivering the stuff that makes our cars move.... but admitadly there are some fools out there...
anyone from bham see the smurfit truck on its side by asda in minworth? good view 40t jobbie showing its belly!

I'm a truck driver and I don't think he'd of known if he flicked it up from the road and I deffinately don't believe he'd of done it on purpose (unless he was irish and having a bad day lol).

Irish are mad bast@rds to other truck drivers as well so don't think it's just car drivers, don't pi*s them off, infact I wouldn't go out your way to pi*s any truck driver off because they have a job to do and get somewhere at a certain time and most don't take kindly to people holding them up (if a truck can go that quick at that time a car deffinately can) and they're fully aware that they're bigger than you so if for instance your in some road works on a motorway that's a 40 limit with speed cameras do 40 and not 30 as speed cameras give you 10% safety thing anyway (44) but I'd still keep to 40 just incase you have a slight lack of consentration down a hill or something (obviously nothing to do with this thread just some advice).

Even if you had of got the company name and reg it wouldn't of made a difference because even if you could prove it was him with 35 witnesses you still wouldn't get oat out of the company or their insurance for it.

P.S. I wouldn't say I was an idiot, I've got qualifications in computers and stuff I just do the job because I enjoy it, no boss over your shoulder all the time and stuff.

crap martin, guy in our work was behind a lorry in the rain and when going round a corner alot of muck and debris emptied out the trailer all over his bonnet - end result £600 in the bmw garage for paintshop and bodywork damage. Lorry company denied all responsibility even though he took photos of it and the lorry in question!

absolute joke
