Can this be changed without any special tools ? Apart from locking the flywheel to get the bolts undone and fitting new ones on reassembly?
Obviously I need to remove the gearbox.....

yeah easy peasy, rip out old one, lubricate new one, whack it in, replace flywheel bolts too, only need the crank pin really

Don't push the new one in too far either or else it will leak... not a leason to learn the hard way!

Cheers Fred , Mick I have just searched and some say that it leaks from the crankcase or is that on the valver engines ?

It can yes but the only way you're really gonna know is to either drop the oil/sump and re-seal it or drop the box and inspect/replace the oil seal.

If you're planning on keeping the car for a while i'd say do it and stick a new Valeo clutch kit in there for good measure.

Cheers Mick

I found it leaking when I changed the box and clutch last year but didn't have time as I needed the car for a sprint that weekend ! tut !
