i have a Megane Coupe with a The F7R


good car 150bhp standerd for 2.0 i been looking into this f7r and i have the info about it


Specifications ENGINE
Induction capacity: 1998 cc
Bore x stroke 82.7 x 93 mm
Cylinders: 4
Valves: 16
Injection: multipoint fuel injected
Compression ratio: 9.8:1
Maximum power: 108 kW ISO 150 bhp (110 kW) DIN (Megane at 6000 rpm, Williams at 6100 rpm)
Maximum torque Williams F7R: 175 Nm ISO 17.5 mkg DIN (at 4500 rpm)
Maximum torque Megane F7R: 185 Nm ISO 18.2 mkg DIN (at 4500 rpm)
Redline: Williams 6500 rpm, Megane 6800 rpm

im thinking of puting a turbo on it about 60bhp but people are saying I HAVE TO REBUILD THE ENGIN?!?!?! i read up that the F7R can hack a Turbo conversion (reliable 210bhp+ and up to 500bhp+ in some applications)
i know i got a work to do like oil cooler, injectors, oil filter, intercooler, manfold, turbo, down pipe.

can some one light me up plz

Low boost on an F7R for the sort of gains you want is perfectly possible, but make sure it is mapped properly, most of them die as a result of off the shelf chips that dont do the job properly, especially when coupled with people using a different turbo to what the chip was written for.
Aftermarket management is by far the best idea.

depends on what sort of power you want. if your doing it cheap then some R21 turbo injectors will do you

Saab red injectors are a direct swap (just use the o-rings from the renault) and are about 30 quid a set secondhand, they will flow 300bhp so easily more than you require.

The key thing though is that if you do ignore what ive said and not go aftermarket management, then you must use a chip that is for EXACTLY the specification of engine you build, that means in terms of the turbo but also crucially in terms of the injectors.

im 90% sure the megane F7R ecu cant be remapped and you cant fit a chip in it either. so it would need to be aftermarket ecu.

could be wrong of course but thats the common thought on another website im on

il get a aftermarket management for it to be save me but dont i need to upgrade the injectors tho?

just need tips i dont want to start work on it and finsh and drive down the road and it blows up lol

il start looking for a aftermarket management


but the injectors just need somthing to do the job as long as it dose that il be happey

just to let every one know! i done it all Renault 5 GT Turbo the parts fit onto F7R aka manfold turbo down pipe intercooler oilcooler thats it! :D

-Intercooler (possible to turbo without it, but you're going to be slow)

-Fuel injectors (saab reds go straight in)
-Fuel pump (no necassary)
-Blow-off Valve (BOV) or Bypass valve (much harder to plumb, but more efficient)
-Oil temperature, water temperature, boost, air/fuel, and fuel pressure gauges
-Cooling fans and/or radiator
-Colder spark plugs (1 or 2 heat ranges colder than stock)
-Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
-New tires
-Bigger exhaust
-Coilovers/springs to a specified ride height
-New brake pads
-New discs (grooved)
-Oil Cooler
-Oil Feed Pipe & Non-Return Valve
-Oil Cooler Hoses
-Correct nipples
-Stage 1 Clutch
-New oils (including gearbox oils)
-Good air filter/induction (air pipe)
-Modified sump (looking into it)
-Heatshield, Mounting Brackets & Hardware
-All sealents/gaskets and correct fitments

and thats only if your running at a safe 0.7psi , any higher = extra ££££££££

I've no idea what you are on about there, gt turbo stuff doesnt just fit striaght on an f7r, and I would assume you mean 0.7 bar = 10psi not 0.7psi

you're right

Also have to think about the type of injector being used and not just the size. R21 injectors for example would never work as they are low impedence

something to tease your brain...

can a clio williams ecu be tricked into running in the megane?

No "trick" needed really, you just need to fit the dizzy and the flywheel etc, as its expecting renix 44-2-2 and a single coil, not 60-2 and a coilpack.

Fat better idea to just fit aftermarket though!

good point, lot of work just for a remap! it was just a thought for other owners of megane F7R's who might want a remap

lot of work to get a shite ECU with the power of a casio calculator running your engine. Backwards step IMO. Do you a Canems for it, be pretty ideal :)

If you havent bought that manifold yet, ive got one of those manifolds brand new in the box that you can have for 50 quid posted if you are in the uk.
Fits anything with a T2 flange essentially, 200sx, saab, late rs turbo etc.

as long as it dose fit the f7r is fine but is taken me ages to find one that fit and i got my eye on it if yours dont fit then im fucked i need 100% that it dose fit that the prob

Yes thats the same renault item that I have new and unused, the one I have is still brand new in its box. (well more accurately I have 2 of them)

Same thing others sell for nearly 400 quid, lol

No idea how much to post to netherlands, but this guy wants it now anyway apparently (pending me sending him pictures at the weekend) so its acedemic, as the other one I want to keep in case I go that route myself still later on.

Tuturr, there's a guy on renaultonline.net username bruciemaximegane who has a cast log manifold that he's always trying to flog to me but seeing as I have no use for it you may as well see if he will post it to you. Only wants £80 for it iirc
