Factory H/U Removal

I need to remove my tuner list head unit, in order to fit my new cd changer. How do I do this? Do I have to buy a special tool, or can I improvise?

I cut the corners off a wire coat hanger. poked it in the hole wiggle it around, then withdraw.

I'd heard that could work. I was just checking though - didn't want to sound like some kind of automotive cowboy!

yeah coat hangers work fine mate, used some for mine the other week.
Just need to insert them into the holes and push them to either the right or left (can't remember) while easing the HU out.
I still have the coat hanger bits on my passenger floor at the moment...

I got the removal keys to do it from Halfords, only cost a couple of quid.

I tried the coat hanger trick...........







...........and it worked beautifully.
