Faded bonnet, should I wrap it?

  Jap Box
Well my bonnet and drivers side had a cheapo respray before I bought the car and has faded to a dull more pinkish colour as I never have a chance to clean/wax the car etc due to weather and work.

Bonnet has the worst job ever, and has water marks under the paint which are always there, now heres the question.

Should I wrap the bonnet? and also how much would it cost, could it be done by myself and a few others to flat it etc.

Im also thinking about removing the badge and smoothing that section over, ideas?

Any help appreciated :)

A would get it resprayed or look around scrappies you could find one in your colour. Itl proberly cost the same tbh. You could wrap it yourself but if your not fimilar with the wrap it could go wrong. Just remember getting it painted will help you in the furture to when you come to sell it.

Respray is too much really as the drivers side wing, door and rear quater are all off colour too so I would need it all done.

Cars on 130k and worth practically nothing anyway so re sale is going to be bad whatever happens lol

Bet you its not as bad job as my bonnet lol

Ha ha, it looked ok when buying it, it must have been polished up well and kept clean, but now its been through the snow etc its got into a right mess and you can see all the water marks in the paint.

Might give it another go over with SRP, t-cut and some turtle wax colour restore stuff ive got lying around tomorrow if the weather isnt a b**ch.

Buy some green, blue and white hammerite and a brush. Paint every panel a different colour.

Do something comedy with it. Its not worth a w**k. Every other day you post up about problems with it so stop wasting money on it.

Ha ha, the problems seem to have died down now luckily, apart from this morning when I put my foot through the heater controls because it wouldnt move to the windscreen heater setting to get rid of the ice on the inside, piece of s**t. Then had to replace that today with a spare I had here after hours of removing the lower dash and wheel.

You're looking at around £150 - £200 for a bonnet wrap.

That's about 20% of your cars value, so I'd sell up and get another if it's giving you so much grief

Get someone to give you a price or you give them beer vouchers for a quick machine polish.
You'd be surprised how much better this is than a hand polish.

Then get a few good layers of uv stable wax or sealant on it.
Should be good for a good few months.

Have you tried a red colourant polish?

Yep, its had that, SRP, AG Colour restore and t-cut on there too at different times to try bring it back up.

You will need to compound and polish it properley to cut the bad oxidation out, and scrap the t-cut!!!!

Thanks for this, ill see if the valet place does any of this as my mate works there and see if he can do anything decent about it.
