Failed MOT

  Clio 1.2 2.3 2004
My car has failed it mot on the front two tyres. My coilovers have been carving into them (prob 5mm each tyre)

This is google image but it's basically done this

On the top edge of the tyre

This has only happened in the past two weeks after getting them camber adjusted.

They gave me an advisory also saying my ARB isn't doing its job because it's is low.

How do people get around this problem. My car isn't that low

Also if I go the stretch tyre way will that pass an mot?

yeah stretched tyres will def pass mot, not illegal just most legit Tyre places don't like doing it usually. Not worth it tho mate IMO cos you can get a blow out a lot easier than with standard set up

  clio sold :(
Some spacers should sort of the tyre rubbing . But you will need new tyres for the Mot I bet.
And the Arb is strange there's countless cars lower than yours . First time ive heard that line?

Yeah it is bad lol iv put my old alloys back on and there a lot better but I'm going to go get some cheap spacers from halfords to pass it thought the mot.

Iv raised it up 30mm on the front so we'll see what happens there. Fingers crossed haha

Just put it through the MOT on the old alloys in the meantime so it's done and out the way.

Don't keep driving it like that though, Toyo Proxies don't have a very thick side wall as it is!!

I only drove it home when I knew that. There on standard now jut bought some cheap 3mm spacers to make sure as they will look there right away
My camber on both sides is -0.5 so not sure how it did it tbh but it has so need to sort something properly out.

Stech tyre and 20mm spacers is on the cards next
