Fan came on?

But if a random one so just checking…

I don’t think I’ve ever had the fan come on, or at least noticed in come on even when at a track day all day.

I’ve just changed all the oils - not messed with coolant just doing my pre CSF services.

Ran it up to temp, few big revs etc and noticed that the fan came on and it was rather toasty under the bonnet.

Temp gauge never moved from halfway way which it never has and fan did go off on its own with the bonnet open.

Wondering if it’s just because it’s so hot today and the car didn’t have free flowing air as it was stationary?

Just don’t want to get to CSF, do a few laps and find out somethings wrong.

If your cars stationary it’ll soon heat up, especially with these temps. The temp gauge on these rarely moves from the centre unless there’s a real problem.

It never took long for my Clio track cars to heat up and the fans to kick in when sat on the drive. On track they were fine due to airflow. The fans kicking in is a good thing.

If the coolant is fresh and at the right levels, I’d just send it.

You can get a 75 degree thermostat, if you haven’t already, to get coolant flowing quicker.
