FAO 182 owners with a RA2.

Guys,

I am having a few problems with the signal. I have just purchased the cable for the UV screens, has anyone got one and where do you find is the best place to fit it inside the car?

Cheers

Simon.

I use a b2, but even so, the gps reciever is located at the back of the car on the parcel shelf.

Other peeps run with it on the side ledge below the side rear windows.

I have a RA2 fitted in my 182 and havent had to use the extension at all. Instead I made a brand new bracket for it which also means that the laser detector isnt blocked by the windscreen wipers. I will try and get some pictures of it later on today

Ive got an original Road Angel and I dont need any external aerial. Ive put it in the square in the middle of the screen. I also have a TomTom Bluetooth GPS receiver in the car and that is located on the little shelf below the traction control and cruise control switches, works fine evertime.

mine works ok sometimes then other times it takes upto an hour to pick the signal up (using the square at the bottom of the screen)

mine used to work ok Shaun when it was sat on top of the dash, touching the dash. But i thought it was too low and the wipers were getting in the way of the laser reciever.

Mine is placed well high on the windscreen, i only have the 172 Cup so the windscreen wont cause any problems, but it still takes a good 5 - 10 minutes to connect with a signal.........

^yeh i had no problems in the cup, and it used to start up fairly quick, but i can go miles and it doesnt even come on, i have just been sent a new unit so its not like mine is knackered

Ill post a pic up later on, at work till 8.30... It works quicker mounted on the screen than on the dash, but still not great, might try the ariel in the back?

I got mine professionally installed in my 182 with the external GPS aerial. They have placed the GPS aerial on the back spotted stuff next to my rear view mirror on the front windscreen as apparently they don’t put heat reflective stuff on that area?

thought it was all heat reflective apart from the bottom square?

182blue, when you say "

^^yeh i though that, but then i didnt know if the laser worked through the heat reflective screen, mine is sat on the dash"

mine is still looking out of the clear square, just at the top of the clear square instead of low down near the wipers.

But my wipers are low, other 182s ive seen their wipers are mounted higher in the off position.

Also the heat reflective has no bearing on laser recpetion anyway so Ive been told.

The Snooper in my 182 has its GPS receiver mounted under the plastic just below the windscreen wipers on the drivers side. It works fine.
