FAO: Clio GTT Owners





Ive searched but these are different type of questions, so here goes..

1. Would you do it again? Say you sold your car for some reason, got another RT say (or 16v, depending).. would you get a GTT conversion again? Or do something different?

2. Servicing, I know oil changes need doing every 3k odd miles or something, but what about services? Every 6k? How much would a decent tuners charge? (GDi for example.)

3. Maintence.. is it high? Do you constantly have to be messing around with it etc..? For say, a mildly tuned engine.. not silly power but a bit more than standard. What kind of things do you have to do if you use the car as a daily driver covering quite a few thousand miles a year (anywhere upwards of 12k-15k)

4. Fuel. Consumption, on a midly tuned car.. is it ok? What kind of MPG are you getting?



Just interesting to see if people would make the same decision again, if they came to it.. I know a lot of people are now interested in 2.0 conversions now GDi can get some decent power coming out of them!

1. Yes i would, a 2.0 conversion would have been tempting, but id still go the GTT route if i had to do it again

2. I change my oil every 3k, other than that, servicing is jus like a normal car, i try an clean my BMC every 6-10k, will be changing the fuel filter soon, and though i dont need em yet im gonna get more plugs so ive got em when i need em

3. No, i had a water leak but thats been sorted now, most of the bits on my engine are new so not much is likely to go wrong with it (TOUCH WOOD !)

4. Fuel consumption, lol, its a fair bit more than my 1.4RT, id be very very lucky to get 300 miles from a tank

as for doing turbo lump again, yeh no way would i go williams or 1.8 lump, much to fun running 1.4, service must be done ie oil every 6000 max etc, runing cost no worse than a 1.8, and if you want power, its reasonably easy to get. go for a trip in both before you decide, im sure youll be suprised.
 


Old topic, I know whats what now anyway.. hehe, but could be a useful thread for people who are interested in the two options!
