Can anyone solve the following problem?

1*2 FFs have 2 x 501 bulbs for the interior roof light.
1*2 Cups have 1 x Festoon bulb for the roof light.

Why when changing these bulbs for LED versions does the cups light not come on when opening the door when the FF lights do???

The LED in the cup works fine using the on/off switch!

Mine works the opposite way when you flip it over.

maybe the draw current is not high enough ?
tried also fitting a load resistor across the led to simulate a 5watt load

Because there are two lives feeds at the light, one from the door switch and one from the light switch. The LED you have fitted is polarised, meaning it will only work when the current flows through it in one direction. The two lives issue means that the current flows in a reverse direction when the opposite mode is selected (door/switch) and therefore the LED will not light, ever!

OK so english, there is nothing i can do?

But it works fine on a 1*2 FF.

The LED's in my FF are not polarised. Your options are;

1, Buy a new, non-polarised LED = Job done.

2, Buy a new FF interior light and 2 new non-polarised LED's (501's) = Job done.

So 1) where do i find a non-poloarized LED
and 2) does the whole FF unit fit in the small cup unit place?

1, ultraleds.co.uk just make sure they are non-polarised. Email to ask if unsure.
