Clio 197
Hiya,
I was wondering if you could do me a favour.... I've done a lens-test with my 350D.
I've got 65MB of Jpegs which I would like you to look-at... to tell me if I should be satisfied with my camera's sharpness - I want to be 100% about its quality before it's too late to return it.
I've zipped them together, and was wondering if you could download them from me, to have a look.
I've done two tests: One on my Tamron 28-300 XR , and one on my Canon 18-55 USM.
I placed the subject (a lens filter) approx 30-40cm from the camera lens. I set autofocus to a single centrepoint, and focussed on the letter "A" in each shot.
The subject (a lens filter) was lit-up with a 25W desk lamp - so it was done under low/artificial/indoor light conditions.
The camera was placed on a tripod and the self-timer was used, so as to avoid any shake/vibration.
Each Zoom setting was tested with two ISO settings: 400 and 100, at the widest aperature the lens would allow.
On the Tamron lens, I tested the following Zoom settings (each at 400ISO, then 100ISO):
300, 200, 135, 100,70, 50, 35, 28.
On the Canon lens, I tested the following Zoom settings (each at 400ISO, then 100ISO):
55, 35, 24, 18.
Results (in the above order) (check advanced file properties if unsure):
IMG_0665 - IMG0691
Finally, to finish the test off, I placed the subject 14cm from the Canon 18-55 USM lens.
Zoom was set to 55mm, and two shots were taken: 1 @ F5.6 ; and 1 @ F36.
Results (in the above order) (check advanced file properties if unsure):
IMG_0692 - IMG_0693
What do you think?
Ta,
Oms.
