I doubt it, because its the actual DNS entry that is missing.

the DNS server returns the error "Unknown Host" so if anyone knows the IP of the server you will probably find it is still up and running.

Well I dont work as a Server Administrator for nothing..

I did a whois on http://www.k-tecracing.comwww.k-tecracing.com and resolved it to this:

Domain Name: K-TECRACING.COM
Registrar: MELBOURNE IT, LTD. D/B/A INTERNET NAMES WORLDWIDE
Whois Server: whois.melbourneit.com
Referral URL: http://www.melbourneit.com
Name Server: NS1.LIVEDNS.CO.UK
Name Server: NS2.LIVEDNS.CO.UK
Updated Date: 17-dec-2002

I then pinged NS1.LIVEDNS.CO.UK which resolved to the IP 213.171.193.36

I then entered this into my network settings as my primary DNS server.. loaded up my browser and entered http://www.k-techracing.comwww.k-tecracing.com and hey presto I got there web site no problems..

Am I a genius or what ? go ahead and try it for yoursef :D

depends what ISP you use, but you probably get your DNS server dynamically through the DHCP server

for example in windows 2000:

Right click on my network places, select Properties

Right click on the Local Area Connection which applies to your cable modem, select properties

click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then click properties.

click the radio button "use the following DNS server addresses"

In the Primary DNS address type 213.171.193.36 then click okay then okay

now open up your browser and view the k-tec site.

to go back to the way it was go back into DNS settings and change it back to obtain DNS servers automatically.

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy !! ;)

thats why server admin is so sh*t! its cos theyre on forums all day! I use dellhost for about 15 sites and theyre a complete **** up! lol

There site seems to be back up now, for me anyway. I guess their DNS servers just had to update properly, now that the rest of the Net has them it should be fine.
