Is there a version(s) of Linux I can burn to CD and boot directly from that?

(I.E Nothing has to be installed on my HD)

Edit - Being able to boot it from a flash drive would be even better.

Out of those ditro's which is the best to go for? I've tried Ubuntu before but are any of the others better?

what do you want to do with the computer once its booted?

Web browsing mainly, playing back mp3's and video.. Nothing too taxing and mainly just want to see what it's like.

Ubuntu is a gooden, nice GUI for a CD anyways, dont know why Windows can't do this, so much better than having to install it just to see whether you like it.

You could install Virtual PC and run anything in that from you Windows GUI, I find it quite useful myself.

openSuSe 10.2 has a Live DVD, it does not include an installer.

Even though I am an Ubuntu user, I think you would be more impressed with SuSe than Ubuntu "out of the box"

Ubuntu as will all distros is easy to configure for eye candy but personally I think the default look is shite.

Bit late to the party.. but i dont go anywhere without my DSL on my USB stick..

Can only get access to a windows machine.. no problem.. whap that in and im fully linux again ;)

If only any of the s**t machines at work could boot from the USB.
