Just create an encrypted disk image and put your files in that.
You can't password protect a folder as it is protected by your user permissions - other users on the system can't access the file unless you specificially give them access to it.

Welll i;ve done the encrypted disk image thing and it works fine... but a guy on that forum says its more prone to corrupting? i really dont want to loose my files.
