FAO people who have fitted a dephaser themselves...

When you order a dephaser from Renault, does it come with an oil seal that apparently sits behind it?

Strange question but I have a mate that's bodging together a scenic before it gets WBAC'd and he's after one. I have had my dephaser replaced on my 172 and still have the box of old bits. But its all locked up down the unit and I don't want to waste an hour going there If I haven't got one.
I can't ask my mechanic as his phones switched off...

no, the seal you need only comes in a kit. It's a pair of seals, and new nut, and bolt. about £25

Ok cool, thank you.

We fitted cambelt kit, aux belt kit and dephaser. Any chance it would have been in with this lot? Or is it a separate item altogether?

Cheers for the correction Danny, Mike must have ordered it in separate for me then when I got the bits off him to do the lot. SO many seals in a full set, it amazed me how many extra ones there were in the belt kit that are for different cars etc, such a massive amount of waste every time but I guess they cant be arsed with selling several different options that just suit one car. Explains the price of them a bit, as you are buying so many things you dont want everytime, lol
