FAO the mechanical minded Dan/Fred/chip . full front end suspension rebuild HELP

hi, had one of my front strut shocks die on me two days back, recently been eurocarparts and purchased, the following list

struts X2 non sport sachs
lower ball joints X2
dust covers ( kit )
top mount bearings ( kit )
track rod ends X2
full anti roll bar bush kit ( inner bushes and outer bushes + drop link )

and from renault- very top mount securing thingy ( thing that sits on the lot in engine bay ) X2

now , me and dad have all the tools to do such jobs and 2 poster ramp, question is, as we have done the anti roll bar bushes and drop links already.
and taken both old struts off, ( had to drill the top mount thingys off as the thread was fooked on them from the last owners lowering efforts )

how are we going to make sure the car is not massively out of alinement? just so we can take it 5 mins down the road to a reputable tyre place. obv for a full front end allignment and long due new front tyres

talking in such degree of, camber/ toe ect ?

i pressume if we bolt everything new on, the same way the old stuff came off ,we should be fine ?

help much appreciated thanks :)

Only thing to worry about are the track rod ends. You need to install them in almost the same position as before (measure remaining thread before/after). Driving 5 mins down the road for alignment is possible even if the setup is totally out of order though.

Best way to measure them is to go from the centre of the pin to the edge of the tie rod inner joint as some TRE's differ in length :) As above though even running crazy toe for 5 mins won't damage anything!

You're learning. ;)

Just do it roughly by sight, lining front wheels to back or even a piece of string held at the back of the rear wheel then put to front of the front wheel. Similar principle to a plumbline.

Cheers lads, having more fun trying to get them off now. Siezed on like hell.

And to say people have trouble with the lower ball joint pinch bolt lol

All done ,only pulls slightly to the left so getting two new uniroyal rain sport 2 tyres put on and full front geometry and alignment set up done.

Need to do rear shocks now, front is bouncy and the back just slumps over bumps haha

Not bad for an average joe
