Farting 6x9s - why?

i bought some new 6x9s fitted them and they were fine, but i wanted to cover my shelf in cloth - so i did, and put it all back in - and now they are farting! dont imagine i damaged them whilst covering, is there a reason/cure for this?

The cloth is probablynot tight enough or is touching the speakers.

the speakers still have covers on, i left the back of the cloth open in order to let air flow...ill have to have a play by the looks...
