Faulty exterior temperature sensor

I was wondering if anyone else has had this fault. I bought my Clio 172 about 6 months ago and it has always told me the exterior temperature is much higher than it actually is. Back in the summer it was always telling me that it was 49 degrees, which I'm guessing is its maximum temperature as it went no higher. It's now November and it's still reading 38!!!! I have noticed that one of the mirrors is missing a little black sensor type thing off the bottom. Is this my problem?

No it won't be that mate there is only supposed to be one, passenger side.

I'd replace it, 50p from a scrapyard

Sounds as though it's reading in Fahrenheit to me! Does it say 'C' next to it? Mine always read about right, like last note it said 6'c
