Got in the car tonight to notice that me passenger side headlight seems to be fooked :(

Could this just be the ballast or whatever or is a whole new unit needed??

Most HID arc lamps explode violently when striking. u should see the sparks when a 10k HMI goes!

its ideal to replace 2 at the same time and try not to go cheep.

Only thing I can't get my head round is if/ how you replace the actual unit? Unless im being a total bloody numb nuts!

Just a normal type bulb? Not the full light unit??

Oh and what the hell does the 4300K etc thing mean?? They go up to 10000K which im assuming means more blue?
I suppose I should really know this!

degrees in Kelvin, its the temperature given to reference the different shades of white light. All u have to do is change the bulb it is the same as changing a normal bulb but try not to touch the glass.

Another little pointer i can add - If your bulbs are still working, but different colours, put your hand on the plastic lens cover after the lights have been on for a while. If you have one lens that is much hotter than the other, this is a potential knackered ballast unit. I had this on the Accord. The ballast was faulty, and was sending too much voltage to the bulb, causing it to get hotter, and give off a different colour. It starts to melt the headlight too........not good when they are £500 each :(

hope this helps. Rob
