I've had a few of these. Absolutely great cars! Did everything really well. (BAck in the day, obviously)
I had a black 1600i, C796 BHU. A white 1600i, C294AMS, I had a Red 1400cc Equippe, H144WYY (iirc) and my favourite, a white 1600i E555MBX.
I loved orions! lol.
I feckin' love these things, once i've saved up a grand or so i'm getting one.
In fact all old Land Rovers are cool as f*ck.
I doubt you'd get a lightweight for a grand...
I've seen them going for £1,200-£2,500 in rough condition, mint one's are £3-£7k,
but a mate of mine builds off road landy monsters for a laugh,
he's told me if we can get a decent pre 72 lightweight chasis for around a grand, (difficult but possible if a non runner)
he'll drop a disco engine in it for me, (tax exempt FTW)
although TBH any pre 72 Landy chasis will do.
He built a lightweight with some kind of V8 in it that's sh*t scary to drive!!
imo, one of the greatest cars ever built (prob cos ive owned 2 3 door cosworths) loved them ever since i was a little kid,
an awesome car
<3
A mate of mine bought one in blue not so long ago, thing f**king flys!
ive had 2 of these (3 doors, not RS500's!) a diamond white one which was used as a track car with 388bhp at the wheels, it got wrote off so i bought a moonstone blue one with 24k, 2 owners and stage 1. i want another as soon as i have the funds =) the drive is just phenomenal =)
Not that I'm intentionally nitpicking, but the 7.0 Cobra was the mk3. The original was a 4.3 I agree though they're fcuking awesome!I'm afraid I don't have a pic cause I'm on the phone but,
original 1965 AC Cobra,
7ltr V8,
open pipes,
1000kilos,
That'll do donkey that'll do
