Yup you're right....although it should dip into 13s in good conditions:D

I love this car. Wish i had the balls to strip my car out. 13's should be possible i'd imagine, how much do you think it weighs martin?

I need to get round to get round to getting it on a weightbridge but based on similar cars that have been weighed I reckon 850-860kg...

That's pretty light, how much do they weigh as standard. Has your car been on the rollers?

i totally stripped my 106 out, one bucket seat, just dash in, no carpet, no headunit, no speakers, and it weighed in at 820kg with quarter of a tank of fuel.
but im guessing the 2.0 engine is a bit more weighty than my old 1.6
plus you got abs units on valvers at a guess? so sounds about right.

love it!

Good effort mate. Now all you need is a smaller batteries out of a walkman and your complete...
Before i sell the 182 i might try this stripping thing and see what i think..

They are 980kgs stnd mate, I'm doing the pgti featured rolling road day at hillpower on saturday:approve: ...I'm guessing somewhere around 165bhp we shall see though....

no abs thank god...it's rubbish on mk1 s anyway! If I get a daily driver I could get it a bit lighter but I use this to get around at the moment lol

Lucky- think I was quoted 15kgs loss for the 4 windows + rear screen tbh it did'nt feel like that much when they were in hand. Although once I binned the e/windows and had the doors and tailgate trimmed the difference is unreal! I reckon the tailgate and doors are half the weight of stnd....

  ITB'd GDI Original?
I'm just looking into weight loss idea's myself. It's hard to decide how far to go and in which direction, without compremising it too much as a road car i have to use everyday.

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo
It deffo makes a difference! Although I think yours is ok with rear seats and spare out....biggest saving is some lightweight seats imo 5kg each stnd is 20+kgs....

Yup, replacing the front seats for some nice lightweight jobbies is first on the list :D

I'm hoping to break in just under 1000kgs before summer's out.

i had mine weighed in at various stages of strippage as got weighbrides dotted all over at work. come in handy, allthough people think your a bit crazy weighing a car on there..

had it at
870
850
820
IIRC

Looking good and with good bit of power too.

Ive got a set of plastic windows i havent fitted yet, and a few other bits to do yet, but yours is nearly looking like mine...inside anyhow..

Wouldnt mind a bit more power like yours, but it does its job round the corners. But i gotta say your a brave man to drive it daily, mines a dog to drive on the road with all the negative camber etc lol

^^ aaronc that is quality mate. love the cage :D

and yours martin. love stripped out cars, iv done it to my 1.2. cuz cuz i think it looks better. should see some peoples faces, well...im sure you have!!

mines an everyday car, but i think if i took anymore out it wouldnt be nice, i like a bit of luxury - front carpet/doorcards and rooflining!

mine: got some valver seats aswell :)

Believe me aaron... although mine is pretty stnd f7r it's a really strong engine and as it's so light it can keep up with some much more powerfull cars on track and I'm a very average driver!
A good 2.0 in yours and you would kicking some serious arse around the track....
I think mine is good round the corners but yours with cup suspension and slicks:eek: that must be serious!

A good cage is on the cards and maybe some track biased tyres when I have some cash....

ollie.. you do realise that if you have a bad crash, you go forward, due to the angle of your harnesses they will pull DOWN on the seat and asits just a standard seat (not a strong bucket seat like theyre designed to be used on) more than likely bend it downwards, meaning your shoulders get pusshed downwards and could cause you damaging your spine!

id recommend putting your harness onto the upper rear belt holes near the rear windows, or buying a new wrap around set and having a harness bar welding across..

Would love a 2.0ltr in it martin, just need to source one for the right money, they still seem to be fairly pricey. Remember a cage weighs a bit so thats what weighs it down, but yeah yours will certainly be quicker in a straight line im sure

yeah already done it mate, those pics were taken last summer sometime, moved my harnesses to the rear seatbelt holes near the rear windows, like you stated. :)
