Feedback on 197/200 Cup with 40 profile tyres

  200 Cup, 435d, 2xMX5
Evening gents,

I think I've decided on AD08rs on the Clio but am tempted by £40 cheaper 215/40s over 45s.

I figure there won't be much sidewall flex in these tyres anyhow so it won't make much difference to ride comfort (or lack of!). Or have people tried and hated it?

The gearing change is in the right direction for this sort of car so won't be a problem. I don't mind the speedo slightly over-reading either.

Cheers

How much difference in price is there between

215/45/17
215/40/17
225/45/17

?

I've got the wider ones on my track wheels and they work out a bit cheaper than the standard size and have a slightly wider footprint.

And I think the chunker tyre looks better

I will ask about 225/45 but they're not really my preference as I prefer the feel of a 'tighter' sidewall on track if that makes sense. For a 7.5" rim the 225s would be too wide for my taste.

As a comparison I have 225s on my main track car on a 9" rim!
