Festival of Speed Friday pics

My 2nd year at this and I had a brilliant day. Better than last year in my opinion, there was so many amazing cars on display. Highlight for me was meeting and chatting to Rauno Aaltonen up at the Rally Paddock.

Lots of great shots but the close-up of Nick Mason is my favourite, looks like a happy chap.

Where the last batch of action shots taken (cars travelling right to left)? Near where I was in the morning? Looks like a nice low angle.

Nick mason looks very pleased with himself in the AU V16.
Is see his GTO is there aswell, but I think his Mrs usually drives that.
Who the lucky cnut driving the XJ13? Looks a bit like Johnny Herbert.

The shot of Nick Mason was a bit of a fluke as I was just taking close ups as they came back down the hill and then realised afterwards who it was.

Yeah those last actions shots are a few yards down the hill from where you were in the morning, I decided to stop and take a few there before i headed to the rally stage, I was pleased with how they came out. I had a similar incident to you though where some bloke decided to step in front of me with his massive lens to take photos straight in my line of sight. All in all though a great day.

I'm not sure, it could be, I know Jay Leno was scheduled to drive it at some point of the weekend according to the programme.

Johnny Herbert was driving the BTCC Civic, oddly!

Wish I was able to go

I went back in 2007 and was a great day. Only let down was the weather! Mud was worse than Glastonbury and was such a mission to get out the car park! Made the mistake of parking in the one with the big hill right at the bottom!
