Haven't posted any in a while (unlike me.), so thought I would get back in on the act and post a few up following my quick clean this afternoon.

Thanks very much.

There are more than a few blemishes (hard to spot on pic's) but for its age the bodywork is doing very well. Saying that I have had both rear arches 'done'. Of which one required a new pannel fitting - in person you can see a faint line where the weld was placed.

I have also had the alloy wheels refurbed about 18 months ago. Its a bit of a shame now as I am starting to cover a greater mileage and the wheels have chipped in several places - may be time to get them done again in the not too distant future.

I like your Willy. I never used to be sure on them, but I like this.

Do you ever have any problems with it? I've read about a few people who have spent a lot on maintaining theirs, but would you say that was bad luck?

I think it is a common misconception tbh. I think many people see a thread regarding mark one clio's and wade in with unjustified comments when have had no first hand experience - but are only repeating (and exagerating) what has been 'heard' from others.

I firmly believe that if you look after one you will have few problems. I know many owners who have had very few problems with their valvers or williams's. I have owned mine for 2.5 years and have covered 12k, of which the car has taken its fair share of punishment, but also gets its fair share of pampering. The car has never caused me any problems and I have only had to repair/fix general wear and tear items. In fact to my knowledge (what i can remember off hand) i have replaced; New battery, steering column weld, exhaust weld, new discs and pads (all round), new rear wheel bearings - and thats it.

Ace another mint Williams 3 ;) I bet it stops well by the size of those brakes. You still running P6000's get them in the bin! Where you get your wheels refurbed? I need to get mine done soon.

Brakes are good, need to get some heat into them to get them working well, which when not on track (beating the living piss out of them on b road) can be a bit diff. The other problem is the ABS issue, plant your foot and it sends it haywire, have to be progressive otherwise even with the ABS your skidding. (easier said then done).

Not much tread left on the P6000's, although I have never had too much bother with them tbh, not sure how they have such a bad reputation? Although I haven't had too many options to compare them too, only other tyres i have had is a set of semi-slicks which isn't really a fair comparision. Thinking of going for some F1's next as i have rarely heard a bad word said about them.

Hi Jamie

Get a set of Goodyears F1's. Kwitfit price matched mytyres prices so I got them for £35 each. I also run 195/50/15, they run a little harder but are far better.

My ABS also sometimes panics normally when braking when a wheels in the air- these cars go on 3 wheels so easily but you get used to it :rasp:

Andrew

P.S where you get your wheels done???

Sorry forgot to ans that one. I got them refurbed by proclean in l'pool (prescot) but apparantly this branch has closed since having mine done - there was a thread about it on williamsclio somewhere. The refurbs themselves were a little hit and miss, some came back looking good, others were very disapointed.
