Few questions about steering wheels.

What size is the standard one?

I've been looking and 300mm seams to be the size to go for?

My main problem with the clio is the fact the steering wheel is to far forward, makes my back ache and have to "scrutch" forward when driving like i'm on a track day in the 12oclock 6oclock position, and not feeding the wheel.

Do the bosses move the wheels toward the driver? Or would getting a dished wheel be the only option? Don't like the look of the deep dished ones and there is not many slightly dished ones about.

I have the RS Sabelt wheel fitted to my 172; 330mm perfect size IMO.

I forgot to add a 330mm steering wheel is tiny in comparison to the huge standard jobbie.

Are the bosses adjustable?

You can get spacers to bring the wheel further out and still be able to have a flat wheel.

RS Sabelt wheel FTW! Yes they go a bit 'off' after a while, but still the best mod you can do. (I mean a smaller wheel in general, not specifically the RS one )

Yeh I think so. I bought my RS wheel from RSport, and a Momo hub from Tweeks (iirc). Then fit.....job done.

Bear in mind you will loose the CC buttons from the wheel. Some people have modded theirs onto their new wheel itself. I'm not bothered about CC so I just ditched it.

Oh....and the horn too. You will need a PH1 indicator stalk with the horn button on the end.

i bought a omp 350mm one the other day of ebay and the size is spot on for the clio , was £59 instead of £130 , i had a 300mm on my last car and its way to small for a clio Imo , not enough grip and quite awkward to hold , here's my wheel of ebay , http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180633362337&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT , i then bought a boss of kam racing for £40 or so

That looks nice, but I don't want suede.

Want the trecento but bigger, it has a horn button in the middle to. Not bothered about cruise etc.

Love my rs sabelt wheel but after 2k road miles and one track day it's already going despite regular brushing

I plan to get it recovered in leather when it's totally gone though

I had a flat wheel originally with a spacer to bring it closer.

Then I thought better of it, lost the spacer and bought a deep dished wheel instead. Doing it that way means the hard thing you don't want to be hitting with your head is another 50-60mm further back.
