Few Quick Questions

  Integra Type-R DC2
1) Is the 1.2 16v single or twin cam. Sounds like a daft question, but long story short ive been told two different things by two different garages and just want to be sure.

2) Dose the Renault cam belt changing kit come with the crank bolt and cam seal? Been told they'll need changing along with the cambelt and tensioners, and the reno kit may not supply them.

cheers

Twin cam, all 16v engines are.

If you buy the gates kit then Id be hugely surprised if they didnt supply everything, however the Renault kit probably needs the cam seals bought seperatly

Quite a few cambelt kits don't come complete 172 in particular.

Single cam the 1.2 16 V engine is just uses rockers to run the valves.

Renault don't supply the cam seal since you don't need to the camshaft has marks on it just need to bolt etc the crack in place. thats eaither an improved or bought tool.

right - first off thats not true.
the 1.2 16v is single cam uses a rocker setup to operate 16 valves same as a bmw mini engine same as a few chrystlers etc etc.

and cam seals arent needed to do the belt on the 1.2 16 completely pointless.
the gates kit is 80 something quid trade and comes with just belt and tensioner.
