FFS K850i

Anyone on here suffered "operation failed" syndrome. The b*****d has decided to play up and now I cant open any texts, be it sent, recieved or otherwise. I'm also not getting any texts coming through (i know as a couple of mates have rang me thinking i'm ignoring them) is there a fix or is it time for a row with o2 and a new unit?

Mine done that, its basically fu**ed. Seems a common problem. Phone o2 they will send a courier out with a brand new one for you!

I got on the phone to them first thing this morning, they didnt seem to have any explination as to whats caused it but I'm getting a new handset. I did have to be firm to get them to send one out and do a swap on the doorstep though. They initially wanted me to send mine back first then they would send a new handset or alternatively have a loan phone from a o2 store while they sorted a repair/replacement!

Hopefully I'll have more luck with handset no. 2, I'd ignored the shutter issue hoping a firmware upgrade would resolve it but I cant ignore not being able to send or receive texts!

They must have really rushed this.
My k800i was faultless for me for a year.. (and it's still going!)

Altho, saying that, some people had their k800i die on them, so maybe I was lucky.

My K800i did freeze and have the screen glitch from time to time. Although it had never had a firmware update and it did always work ok again with at most a power down and back up again.

This is spooky Loony.

I'd been using my K850i yesterday with no issues, then at around 19:30 last night I got the same problems. I was able to write texts, but got 'Sending Failed' when I tried to send texts, and I also get 'Operation Failed' when I try to view Inbox, Outbox, Sent Messages and Drafts.

Spoke to O2 this morning (08:30) and they're sending me a new handset to my door ASAP.

Weird how it happened on the same day??? :(

tbh it was probably about the same time, I must have started having issues with it mid evening but didnt know for certain until a mate called and I tried to access the text menu's. Millenium bug style scenario? lol

I get the same issue with writing texts, it will actually let me type the message but then it goes no further. Right arse ache as now I'm stuck with a faulty handset as I wont get the replacement until mid/late next week and I'll have to waste money calling everyone telling them I cant send/receive texts at the moment.

I think it's software issues with some of their current phones. I've seen quite a few W910i do exactly the same thing.

I spoke to o2 described the issues I was having and they said they would replace the handset. A couple of threads on esato suggested that other people have had the same issue and been given the same remedy. I'm guessing if it was just a reflash required they would have suggested I do it or that I drop into the local o2 shop so they could.

nah its a good phone, you always get problems with SE phones, personally id still rather have them than a Nokia, even though for every phone ive had ive always needed at least 1 replacement inside every 12 months ive had it
