Ok i know this is probably a stupid idea, but anyways here goes
Ive just taken my piperx element out to give it a clean up. Anyways, i noticed that the foam isnt attached to the metal inner mesh. What i was wondering was is there any point in the mesh being there? Im pretty sure the foam would stay in shape and function ok when its in the air box?
The way i see it is the mesh slightly reduces air intake as its a solid mass that cant be sucked through.
Or am i talking utter bollox?
