Clio 182, Astra Sri
After constant planning on what I was going to try on the 182 for its first winter in my ownership. I mixed it up a little and used various lsp products on different areas of the car.
This was my prep process in order of events lol, get ready:
Citrus pre wash.
Wheels cleaned with various brushes and cleaners.
Tyres cleaned with surfex hd.
Car drenched in citrus foam via lance.
Cleaned and sealed door shuts with Jaffa clean.
Washed with strong citrus wash and gloss mix using the zymol sponge.
Clayed all surfaces including glass with elite car care clay bar and born slippy lube.
Rinsed.
Quick water blade to get the majority of water off.
Sprayed tardis on lower half, wiped any stubborn areas.
Sprayed ironx everywhere, then after five minutes agitated with a foam applicator then left to work for a further ten minutes.
Thorough Rinse.
Soaked the car in magifoam and left to dwell to help remove any remaining ironx.
Rinsed.
Washed again using gtechniq Arizona mitt and wolfs white satin.
Towel dried and put it in the garage.
Taped up all gaps and plastics.
Machine polished with a rotary and finishing pad combined with 3m Ultrafina se finishing compound.
Gtechniq glass polish on the windscreen and all glass surfaces.
Wiped all surfaces again with carpro eraser.
Now for the finishing touches:
Bonnet had two coats of auto finesse spirit, never used it before, I'll see how it goes, was nice to apply and remove.
Wings/doors/pillars/rear quarters had two coats of autoglym HD. Mainly because I trust it and wanted to make sure these areas wouldn't have to be done again as I find them quite a chore sometimes haha, AG HD is a brilliant wax, one ill always keep hold of.
The roof got a single coat of bouncer's vanilla ice, easily the nicest lsp I've ever used, however removal was tricky, probably my fault though.
Boot/rear bumper/front bumper got 2 coats of fk1000p, another very nice product to use with great long Lasting results.
Windscreen got 3 coats of g1
Side and rear windows got single coat of g1
Trim was coated in gtechniq permanent trim restorer, I was a little worried as I'd never used these fancy nano coatings before. But it was the easiest thing I'd ever used on plastics, results were nice too, deep shiny finish.
Side mirror glass got a coating of autobrite repel.
Wheels were coated in fk1000p, I'm planning on taking the wheels off soon and doing the inside.
Tyres were coated in espuma rd50
Exhaust was polished with autofinesse mercury, then britemax twins with a dremmel.
Lots of reading sorry!
I am really happy with my work today though. Can't believe how much I got done after typing it all out!
It's currently curing in the garage so ill get some photos tomorrow!
Here are a few before I started, and some during... not many sorry:
Pretty filthy for a keen detailers car! Ha
Here's what the bouncers looked like before it was buffed off
Finish was nice and reflective!
Spirits reflection on the bonnet, AG HD on the wing, and fk1000p on the bumper:
Exhausts after:
Ill get some better photos outdoors tomorrow! Thanks for looking
