First Car! cant choose help.

  Clio mk3 1.2 Extreme
Hi im new to this forum and need some help. Car prices dropping so much at the moment so iv found some good deals.
Getting my first car soon and its going to have to be a clio. Problem is cant choose.
Been offered:
1) 04 plate 1.2 dynamic 40,000 in black - £3600 with 12m tax
2) 55 plate (new shape) 1.2 extreme 41,000 in blue - £3400 from Renault.

Prefer the 04 plate car but would i be silly to say no to the newer clio.
Going to look at both of them tomorrow so hopefully be out on the roads soon :)

55 plate 1.2 extreme 41,000 in blue - £3400 from Renault. for me!!! save £200!

id go for the ph2 anyday over the new shape. All the bodykits from the sports fit, wheels are still 4 stud so they fit. nicer looking imo too.
Good luck though!!

Yeah thats probably the most sensible idea. But i reckon the other place will go down more in price if i mention the other clio. Places are getting so desperate at the moment could get alot of car for not alot of money

ohhh shizzzle ma nizzllee dint even notice that buy my 2001 saxo 1.1 46000 miles 12 months mot lol

Aint a great lover of saxo's but not a 1.1 lol sorry. I want a 1.4 clio dynamic but they seem to be pretty hard to get hold of.

That new shape clio, was it a driving school car??!

That seems a lot of miles for a 3 yr old 1.2 Clio.

I dont think so. Somebody bought it on a finance deal and are trading it in to renault. So im not really buying it off Renaults forecourt i guess they just making a little bit of money off me

Well your either buying it off Renault or your not...

If its for sale on their forecourt, then you're buying it off them.

Either way, sounds like a lot of miles to me.

Depends on what the persons been using it for. And yeah i spose it's from renault. I just think i'd trust them more than just some other sales place. Because i really cant afford for anything to go wrong

I dont mind corsa's but so common and 3 of my mates have them. Plus a 1.2 aint too slow is it ?

Just my opinion is why would anyone choose a french car over a none french one unless it's a performance/cost issue.

my car is 02 reg! on 18k! hehehe:rasp::rasp::rasp:
you need to get out more ;)
Yeah would prefer a 1.4 only about £100 difference on the insuance. Plus Clio's got good ncap ratings.
if you're weary about things going wrong then tbh nobody can really advise you because all cars have faults, buying from renault doesnt guarantee a smooth car, and god help you when the cambelts due if money is really that much of an issue

How much is usually for a new cambelt and when are they normally due ? Reanault said 52,000 wether there telling the truth or not i dunno

  a green 1
the 1.3 multijet grande punto would be a good choice, get it mapped would be fairly quick for first car

+ 62.8 mpg lol

renault need their own program called chatting s**t tbh
cambelt replacement:
every 4 or 5 years (dr.rollo correct me if im wrong) or every 36k
36k - 72k(but cs land of know all reccommend 60 to be on the safe side) etc
£200+ though theres a few on here that can foward you to reliable places where prices will obv vary, an example being rentech...
also its best at this stage to replace the aux belt

more detailed threads on this though

dont think id be getting a clio for my first car, only renault worth having is a sport imo

Good point that, thats why you rarely seen a non sport clio around :S

Granded they are not as good as sports but for a first car there are plenty of worse cars. Saxo? Corsa? 206?.......

  200 Gordini
I had mine for nearly 2 years and it never let me down, for a small engined hatch then its the best you can get
