hi, i just bought my first clio, its a 2001 1.2, i was just wondering what some small mods are that can be easly done at home (and not too expensive) to make it stand out, nothing too drastic.

Any comments well appreciated.

There's a thread on here I believe called "Cheap mods" or "Mods under £20".

Things like this...

- Silvervision Bulbs (silver indicator bulbs to get rid of the fried egg look, makes a big difference!) - £10 from Halfords
- Splitter (loads of them around the £10 - £20 mark)
- Ph2 Rear lights (Presuming yours is a ph1)
- Aero Wipers
- Spraying Badges / de badging etc etc spraying front Diamond black.

Quite a few things which I think would all cost less than £20 to do.

I know what the others are saying... don't waste loads of cash on a 1.2... I know I've wasted an awful lot of cash modding carsd which just weren't worth it... but you learn by making your own mistakes I think!

Going out and buying decent cleaning products will make a huge difference... Keeping it clean will make it stand out!

mods which are commonly overlooked on first cars:-

Fresh brakes every so often
Fresh tyres when this set go bald
Fresh oil in the sump every couple of years

that kind of thing, you get the idea

I like different. Just not on my car. Different cheers me up, makes me smile, makes me laugh and makes my car look fooking sexy imo.

nose-to-tail stripes will take half a second off of your 0-60
and Yellow fogs act like some sort of stealth for front-facing speed cameras
